1. Stay away from your phone: Checking your phone is the biggest distraction in life. Keeping your phone aside when you are studying or doing your work can increase your focus 10 fold. We have the tendency to scroll through the phone just like that. The phone should be used just for attending and making calls. Keeping your phone in another room when studying to avoid getting distracted is a good technique to improve focus. An average person checks 150 times their phone every day which takes up a lot of time. If you have a tendency to use apps like youtube or Facebook for long hours put a time cap let's say 15 minutes a day after which it automatically sets itself off. Keep focus time where you don't check your phone. Don't use your phone 1st thing in the morning and complete as much work before using the phone.

2. Focus on one thing at a time: Don't multitask. People say multitasking increases productivity. That's not true. Your brain does not like to switch tasks from one thing to another as it uses a lot of energy to do so. Multitasking actually lowers your productivity to do things. It lowers your focus. The famous book Ikigai talks about how the Japanese just focus on one task at a time and they get the most things done quickly and too efficiently.

3. Get a quiet place: Do your work or studies in a quiet place where there are no distractions. Like no sound of TV or gossiping sounds. Put earphones if required but just be in a quiet place so that you can focus on the task at hand. If you are working you can put up focus music "Focus by narrow beats" can be used. It's available on youtube.

4. Pomodoro Technique: Work for 25 minutes on one thing and take 5 minutes off. You can alter it according to your own methods. This way the brain is able to focus more while doing a particular task.
5. Having a schedule: Make a schedule on what you want to study or work on the next day. This way the brain does not have to think and you complete your checklist for the day. You will see in this way you can get more done. Make a target in how much time you want to complete that task. This is easier said than done because it will take you a lot of practice to get to know how much time it takes you to complete a particular task and then onwards you can set the time accordingly. Set realistic targets for the day.

6. Study from hard copies: Screen time makes you tired as your eyes get tired along with your mind because of the radiations from your digital device. If you want to study for long hours prefer the old school method of hard copy books and keep notes copy by your side to make notes or jot down important things if needed.
